Artist Statement

I am a drawer and painter currently focusing on experimentation with various materials and mediums. Given my love for bright, saturated colour, I use a full spectrum of color in my work. At OCAD U I have gained an in depth knowledge on colour harmonies which I explore through realism and abstraction.

Recently, I have been more interested in feminism, investigating themes of women and gender, sexuality, domesticity, intersectionality and colonialism. Using both drawing and painting, as seen in The Sisterhood Series, my goal is to educate viewers on the strong patriarchal society that we live in and how it is preserved by each and every one of us. I hope to challenge the social institutions that govern our world.
